Welcome To

All Things Beauty

Waking up and focusing on my own care (when I have the time!) really improves my attitude. I’m not talking a full face of make-up here, but maybe one day I quickly throw on a new coloured highlight and another I’ll put on some peach blush.
Take some time to focus on yourself once in a while – you deserve it!

The Basics! Moisturizing

Whether you use makeup or not, moisturizing twice a day (morning & night) is definitely the one routine you want to get down (after cleansing your face). I have dry skin, so these are my two favourite products!

Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost (Extra Dry Skin) is bursting with Hyaluronic Acid. As soon as it’s on my face, this moisturizer soothes and plumps up my skin. It’s non-comedogenic which means it won’t clog your pores. All in all, it does the job of a high end moisturizing product for one-fourth of the price!

My second go-to is Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. It has a smooth, silky texture and contains ingredients like Cucumber and Sunflower extract! I usually use Clinique’s product in the summer and Neutrogena’s moisturizer in the winter when my skin really needs a quenching lotion.

Setting Powders

My absolute favourite setting powder that I purchase is from Ulta Beauty! Beauty Bakerie’s “Flour” setting powder is super finely milled and sets my concealer (and foundation if I use it). All. Day. Long. Other powders that I’ve used in the past have tended to show my fine lines, but not this one! It’s also a vegan formula!

My second favourite can be found on Amazon – it’s Maybelline’s “Fit Me Loose” finishing powder! It works almost as well as Beauty Bakerie’s and doesn’t dry out my already dry skin.
Both come in a variety of colours!

Everyday Lips

Sometimes a quick lipstick can change your whole look. Here are some inexpensive options.

  1. The Essence #02 Velvet Matte Lipstick goes on very smooth and has a powdery texture to it. It’s not drying, is lightweight, and actually feels slightly hydrating when you move your lips.
  2. Milani’s “Nude Crème” is more to a true lipstick. It fades a bit faster but the colour is beautiful and glides on nicely. I love its nude shade, and also that it’s formulated with Vitamins A & C.
  3. NYX’s Suede Matte Lipstick in “Brunch Me” is a perfect fall nude/brown. It goes on very smooth/satin like. It feels almost powdery but not drying – it glides on your lips whenever you move them. Definitely my top pick! Wear is also great as it stays on for most of the day.
