Sensory Play

I’m a huge fan of sensory exploration with kids! There is no right or wrong way to “play”. Let your children explore the materials. They discover shapes, colours, textures, and it can be a great way to expand upon their numeracy and literacy knowledge if they’re home from school (due to Covid reasons).

The possibilities are endless. Create your own bins and tubes depending on your child’s interest. For example, if your children are wildly into zoo animals one week, create a zoo animal bin (which I have an example of below). Most importantly, expand upon those interests using a web technique. One week you can make a sensory bin of zoo animals, and the next you can make a sensory bin full of toy foods that certain zoo animals eat. Focus on their interests and you’ll be sure to have kids who are genuinely excited to learn and play.
