Favourite Baby Products!

There are a lot of baby products out there. I couldn’t believe how many new products came out when I had my first child to my second.
Don’t sweat it! If you’re a first time mom or simply a mom who’s trying to find something that works, I have so many itms that I’d like to share with you that worked so well for our growing family.

Pitcher

Formula Mixer

My kids are giants. This means that they also eat like giants. As a first time mother, I thought breastfeeding would provide my son with all that he needed.
After a couple of months, we quickly realized that the screaming coming from my big baby boy were screams of hunger. He couldn’t sleep even though he nursed all day long.
We went back and forth to the lactation consultant and found that my body simply doesn’t make enough breastmilk.
Whatever your situation is, if you formula feed your child, here is my number one most valued baby item: Dr. Brown’s Formula Mixing Pitcher!
I am obsessed. The milk comes out super creamy, the pitcher comes apart (for washing purposes), and it is incredibly easy to clean/sterilize. I found mine on Amazon!

Dr. Brown's Baby Bottles

As I said previously, I do rely on bottles as well as nursing.
We went through several bottles with my first baby, and these seemed to really help him with colic!
These Dr. Brown’s bottles have a special vent system designed to prevent air bubbles (which leads to colicy babies). They’re also super easy to clean and sterilize!

Nuby Spoons

If you’re going to feed your baby (especially newborn) with any utensils, I recommend these spoons by Nuby which rely on colour changing technology.
If the food is too hot, the colour on these spoons immediately changes to white!

Plates (Baby/Toddler)

We’ve been through a ton of plates in this house and here are my two favourites! Both have pretty strong suction bases too.
The bamboo plate comes with an adorable silicone & wooden blue spoon.
The blue silicone bowl has a bit of an advantage when your kids get older – the bottom of one side of the plate has a straight edge to it, making it easier for children to get closer to their food (less spillage).

Ice Cube Trays

This is one of the easiest ways to prepare baby food!
I use my Baby Bullet to blend up any cooked fruits or veggies, place the puree inside of the trays, and then let the trays freeze overnight.
Once the food has frozen, I will pop them out using the silicone backings and place the baby food cubes into little baggies (make sure you write a description with the date on the bags)!
Those little baggies go into the freezer again, and every day I take out some cubes of fruit, meat, and/or veggies for my little guy.
The trays are also BPA free and dishwasher safe!

Baby Bullet

I have the older version of the Baby Bullet – it has been passed down from my sister (she also made baby food for her daughter).
Not only is the Baby Bullet durable and easy to use, it truly is the best machine that I have used to puree any fruit, vegetables, and/or meats!
If you look above at the previous item (ice cube trays), I wrote down exactly how I prep my baby food!
My kids loved the creamy, pureed avocado and chicken that this blender would make!

Bumkins Reusable Snack Bags

I have so many of these snack bags for storing baby food, bringing snacks along in the car for my oldest, and even for small toys!
One small step to helping the environment!

Our Favourite Teethers!

Teething can be very difficult for our littles! I have gone through so, so many teethers and with two children, these teethers have always been at the top of our list!
The Nuby Playlinks Teethers are bright, colourful and offer not only teething relief, but some fun playtime as well!
The Itzy Ritzy Teether/Rattle is soft, made with silicone, and has raised bumps to help soothe sore gums.
Both are easy for your babies to grab as well!

Baby Einstein's Magic Touch Piano

Theo is currently loving his new piano!
A toy that my toddler also loves, the Magic Wooden Piano has no buttons for keys – it simply uses touch for your child to discover music notes.
It plays different tunes as well and comes with sheet music (for when your little one is old enough to learn how to play different songs)!

Mini Tudou Baby Blocks

I adore these blocks.
The colours are so cute! But the best part – they are super soft and relieve a ton of that nasty teething pain!
These blocks are also great for gross motor skills and cognitive development as they have different shapes on each block that will fit into a different colour block!

The Best Baby Washcloths

Do you ever find certain products with your second baby and think, “I can’t believe I didn’t have these with my first!!”
These washcloths are SO amazing, so durable, and perfect for bath time or cleaning up milk/food stains!
These muslin/cotton washcloths come in a pack of 24 and wash super well!

Our Favourite Baby Feeders!

These feeders are a great, safe way for babies to practice their eating skills!
I also used to give Joey (and currently poor teething Theodore) frozen banana slices in these two different food feeders.
They are wonderful, wonderful soother-like feeders that always took the edge off of that nasty teething pain!

Soothers/Pacifiers (Philips Avent Ultra Air)

Theo & Joseph both went through a few styles of soothers, but these were their preferred soothers when they were around 2 months old.
They come in a pack of 2, are BPA Free, soft, and can be easily sterilized. The container that the soothers come with has a line on the bottom to indicate the water level for sterilizing in the microwave. Yes, that’s right! These can be placed in its container and be microwaved for 3 minutes in order to sterilize them.

Philips Avent Soother (0-3 Months)

When Theo & Joey were newborns, this was actually the style of soother that they preferred!
Also made by Philips, these soothers are 100% Silicone and are great for calming newborns!

Dr. Brown's Bottle Brush

If you’re looking for easy, affordable cleaning brushes, look no further! These are my favourite bottle brushes. They get into every nook and cranny when we wash our bottles! They come in a pack of 3 and also come with a suction base for your kitchen. They’re great quality (the blue sponge piece/bristles are extremely durable) and worth every penny!

Baby Formula (Enfamil A+)

Before you give your baby any type of formula, it’s important to talk to your doctor, lactation consultant, or a paediatrician first.
We were given Enfamil A+ for our first baby in the hospital (although it was ready to feed formula as it is not recommended to give powder formula to babies until 3 months of age for several reasons).
We stayed with this brand as Joey grew, as it was easy for him to digest. His doctor said it contained DHA (which is important for their physical development), fibre, is iron-fortified, and okayed us to continue giving it to him.
We were given the same type of ready to feed with Theo in a different hospital, but noticed that he was gasey with the regular Enfamil A+. We gave him Cocyntal drops which helped tremendously, but we also asked our doctor if it was okay to switch to the Gentlease formula from the same brand. What a difference it made!
The Gentlease formula has the same great benefits as the regular Enfamil A+ (same DHA/Omega-3 fat, etc) but has a reduced level of lactose which made it so much easier for little Theodore to digest.
Like I said previously, consult your baby’s doctor and lactation consultant about baby formulas first
We’ve had great experiences with both of these formulas. A bonus: Enfamil offers these two types of formulas in ready to feed Nursette bottles, refill packs, and even individual packets for on the go!

Munchkin Miracle Trainer Cups

The Munchkin Miracle 360 Degree Trainer Cups were perfect for Joey when he was transitioning away from his bottle! I gave him this trainer cup around 10-11 months so he could practice drinking from a sippy cup!
These sippy cups allow your child to drink from any part of the rim – and best of all, they do not leak! The cups automatically seal as soon as your child stops drinking from them.

Muifa Diaper Backpack

This Diaper Backpack is great for moms on the go!
It has so many pockets, an insulated bottle/water/juice section in the front, and a zipper to access any items that may be in the bottom of the bag (so you don’t have to take everything out – a COVID plus!)

Nursing Pillow

I preferred this nursing pillow to the “U” shaped one in the beginning stages of breastfeeding my two boys for a few reasons.
It provides a lot of stability and support for you AND baby! It wraps around your entire body and can easily be adjusted.
There’s a pocket in the front for your phone, water, remote, etc!
Nursing can be hard work Momma, but this pillow really helped relieve a lot of that stress for me.
