Fall is probably our most favourite time of the year!

With Halloween, the change of season, and all of the crafts/activities that come with it, kids are sure to be entertained whether it’s at home or at school!

Now that we’re in Florida, we don’t really feel the change of season much, but that doesn’t mean my boys can’t still experience it!

We have been doing different activities and crafts throughout the season and I thought I’d share them with you all.

You can probably find most of these items at home, but some might have you taking a fun trip to Target or your local craft store!

My kids love Target so that’s never a problem.

They actually found our first craft at Target – and mommy was able to pick up a coffee too!

Halloween Craft #1: Painting Pumpkins

Coming in at #1 is our wooden Halloween pumpkins from Target!

Target sold everything we needed for this activity – the wood, the brushes, and the paint!

This simple activity kept them busy as they painted, coloured, and created their own unique Halloween pumpkin!

If you can’t find any wooden pumpkins at Walmart, Target, or your local craft store, most of our stores are still full of big, medium, and small crafting pumpkins.

Even Publix has small pumpkins for decorating!

We found these next pumpkins at Walmart. My boys love colouring them every year since they were little!

If your children are still too young to paint independently, you can always paint their hands/feet and make a “Baby’s First Halloween” pumpkin with their handprint/footprint on it!

I still have my oldest’s first pumpkin. There are so many options!

Whatever you decide, painting pumpkins is a must in the month of October!

Halloween Craft #2: Printable Pumpkins

I actually got this idea from my youngest’s daycare!

It’s as easy as using any loose pieces/crayons/markers/paint that you have around the house, and a printer!

Print out any Pumpkin PDF online, and let your little one use their imagination!

Halloween Craft #3: Spiderweb Craft

This is one of my most viewed posts ever. I will post the link to my previous page with all of the supplies needed for my Spiderweb Craft!

I even have a TikTok video that lays out the process set by step.

The craft is fairly easy to set up, and my kids love whenever I get this Spiderweb craft ready for them to paint!

We usually hang our finished products on or near our front door for everyone to see when they come by for a visit and for the other kids to see on Halloween!

Halloween Activity #4: Visit A Local Pumpkin Patch!

We are lucky enough that we have quite a few farms to visit nearby and even some closer to Miami.

For the entire month of October, so many local farms welcome families to experience the fun that fall has to offer!

The farm that we visited had a pumpkin patch, craft vendors, a corn field, a sunflower field, pony rides, obstacle courses, and so much more!

If you can, I highly recommend visiting a farm near you to enjoy the fun that they have to offer!

What can be better than apple cider, pumpkin treats, and basking in the glory of fall with the people that you love?

Although it was definitely on the warmer side, the boys loved every minute of our visit!

Halloween Activity #5: Halloween Sensory Table/Bins

I’ve posted an idea for a Halloween Sensory Bin before, but now that we have one, I was able to fill our Ikea Sensory Table with different options.

All of the materials you see in the bins below came from Michaels, the Dollar Tree, and Hobby Lobby.

Whatever fall related loose parts you can find, add them to your sensory bin (keeping in mind to make sure that they are age appropriate).

Try pine cones, fake leaves, scoops, little pumpkins, wooden halloween themed pieces (cats, witches, ghosts), plastic bones, silicone cups, regular plastic cups, etc!

The idea is to promote fine and gross motor skills while also having fun!

Now that my boys are older, I can put smaller pieces in these bins without the worry of my boys (youngest especially) choking.

Halloween Craft #6: Dracula Handprints

This is definitely a fun craft to make at home!

It doesn’t require a lot of materials – just paper, glue, paint, and red construction paper.

This type of craft also works for Frankenstein’s Monster – just swap the skin colour to green!

I hope you all give some of these crafts and activities a try!

Some of my favourite memories from growing up revolve around Halloween and the pure excitement that came with crafts, decorating, the change of season, and trick-or-treating.

Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween!
